Rabi’ al-Thani (1446)

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Welcome to our fourteenth newsletter, as we welcome the month of Rabi’ al-Thani; we welcome the “second spring,” praying that it continues to revive and nourish our hearts just like the “first spring” did before it.

There are no particularly significant events that took place during Rabi al-Thani that make it sacred in Islam, or a special month of worship. However, Allah ﷻ and his Prophet ﷺ recommended voluntary acts of worship all year round, including giving Sadaqah, reciting the Qur’an, performing istighfar and voluntary prayers.

GEMS OF SHAYKH ABD’ AL-QADIR AL-JILANI رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
The great Saint of Islam, Shaykh Abd’ al-Qadir al-Jilani رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ is also remembered in Rabi’ al-Thani. Here are a few pearls of wisdom that he uttered:

Who does not follow the Prophet ﷺ taking his Law (Shari’ah) in one hand and the Book (Qur’an) that was revealed to him in the other hand, and who does not attain to by his path (Tariq) to Allah ﷻ, will perish and perish, will go astray and go astray. They are two guides to the Lord of Truth (Almighty and Glorious is He). The Qur’an is your guide to the Lord of Truth (Almighty and Glorious is He), and the Sunnah is your guide to the Prophet ﷺ.
Your condition must always be either a tribulation or a blessing. If a trial, endure it with perseverance. If a blessing, then be grateful.
The heart receives energy from remembrance (dhikr of Allah) and becomes alive, not only alive in this world, but alive forever in the hereafter.
If you talk, speak with good intentions. If silent, silence with good intentions.
The lovers feel no rest in their hearts even if they enter a million Paradises until they see their Beloved.
Spend time at the door of your Lord, He will answer you, He will open the door.
