Jumada al-Akhira (1446)

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Welcome to our sixteenth newsletter, as we welcome in the month of Jumada al-Akhira; the sixth month in the Islamic calendar. This blessed month marks the birth and veiling of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra عليه السلام the beloved daughter of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, which gives us an opportunity to reflect upon her beautiful character and life and try to follow and live by it more in sha Allah. It also marks the veiling of Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq رضي الله عنه the beloved companion of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ who taught us the real meaning of sincerity, sacrifice, loyalty and service to Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ.

SAYYIDA FATIMA AL-ZAHRA (عليه السلام)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ held Sayyida Fatima عليه السلام by the hand and said, “One who knows this (one), indeed they know her. One who does not know her then she is Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, she is a part of me, she is my heart and she is my spirit that lies between my two sides. One who harms her indeed they harm me, and one who harms me, harms Allah.” (related on the authority of Mujahid)

Sayyidina Abu Ayyub al-Ansari رضي الله عنه narrated about Sayyida Fatima عليه السلام that: “One the day of judgement a caller will cry from below the throne, ‘O people gathered, lower your heads and your gazes until Fatima daughter of Muhammad crosses the traverse. So she crosses with seventy thousand hand maidens like lightening.” (al-Tabarani)

Imam Ahmad Raza Khan said in praise of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra عليه السلام:
“Light is she, the daughter of light, the wife of light, the mother of light and light.
Light is she, a servant of that absolute Light,
O Allah ﷻ what a marvellous collection of Light is this!”

SAYYIDUNA ABU BAKR AS-SIDDIQ رضي الله عنه
Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ said “the person who has done the greatest favours upon me is Abu Bakr, in two things: his companionship, he stays with me at all times, he was with me when no one believed in me, he was with me when everyone deserted me, his companionship he has a favour upon me, and his money he sacrificed his wealth upon me.” (Tirmidhi)‬

Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ also said, “If I were to take a Khalil, I would have taken Abu Bakr, but he is my brother and my companion (in Islam).” (Bukhari)

Sayyidina Ali كرم الله وجهه said, ‘May Allah show you mercy Abu Bakr. You were the first of the people to accept Islam, the purest in faith, strongest in certainty, most fearful of Allah. He went through the greatest of toil, guarded the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him), he united people upon Islam, had the greatest faith of the companions, was the best of them in companionship, the greatest of them in virtue, the strongest of them in conviction, the highest of them in rank, the closest to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him). He resembles his guidance, character and practice the most, he is the most trustworthy of them, the most honoured in rank and the noblest of them. May Allah reward you from Islam, from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him) and from the Muslims (abundant) goodness.” (Al-Bazzar)

We have now completed “Man of Many Splendours,” a beautiful book on the life of Habib Ahmad Mashhur al-Haddad rahimahu Allah and it has just been sent to print alhamdulillah. We look forward to releasing it in February 2025 in sha Allah. May it be a means of great openings and blessings for us all. Ameen

We are working on a few other projects as well which we hope to publish over the next year in sha Allah. May Allah ﷻ grant tawfiq.
